How would I set up and FTP behind a router?

Hi guys,

Ive been stumbling around in the dark for a while trying to get my FTP work, TBH I dont know what Im doing.
Do you think someone could post a tutorial on how to set up one please?
Im using a NetGear router DG834, The FTP software im using is 'Serv-U FTP Server 6.0.0.1'
If someone could help me out that would be great

Try going into your router setup and forwarding the port you are using for your FTP.
