Cable Router-next to nonekb/s for downloads

I have a Linksys Cable Router hooked up in my home and have it wired to two computers. Before I bought the router my one comp. had fast downloads, after I installed the router, both of the computers have had about 40 kb/s downloads. I have heard that it might have something to do with the firewall, but I have no clue. Can someone please help me with this. I am dying with these slow downloads.

I hate my Linksys router too, get lagg killed all the time online. Could be your firewall though. Did you install Zone Alarm? If u haven't, don't, it lagged up our network so bad. If you have it, lose it.

I dont really know much about Zone Alarm. Can you tell me how to check for Zone Alarm and how to turn it off if I do have it. Thanks

Also I was wondering if I don't run Zone Alarm, should a get another firewall or just leave it alone. It says my router and cable modem have a firwall enabled.

Your router has a firewall on it, so you dont need to install another one. Software firewalls are sh!t anyway.
