| DHCP Settings and multiple Access Ponts Hi,
Curious about this set up idea.
Im currently using a DSL2+ All in One modem that has 2line voip, 802.11g, 4port LAN.
The Lan port feed a gigabit switch, plus an Asus WL500gP wireless router on its own subnet (this will be eventually used as a DD-WRT hotspot). Thus i have 2 wireless networks, each with their own subnets.
Previous problem:
In the past when i have set up large wifi transfers from my HTPC via the Asus WL500gP, it seemed to bog down all other clients using this AP
Proposed Solution:
So i had a thought today that if have the DSL2+ all in One modem issue all IP addresses and configure the WL500gP to relay the DHCP signal, all clients would be on the same subnet.
This would allow me to connect my HTPC wirelessly to the All in One modem for large file transfer or streaming without affecting the bandwidth to the wireless clients connected to the Asus WL500gP.
Do you think that would work well?
Cheers |
