Default Dual WAN. Who is using it?

I recently purchased a DUAL WAN device and as i already know what it does, i have no way to test it without 2 active connections. Is there any other way i can test it?

And will Dual WAN devices let you nominate which ISP to send all upline traffic through? Presuming that they allow concurrent connections.

Thanks

that would be kewl
if you could use them both at the same time (not in windows TMK) teen you could manage the firewall around up and down on seperate lines. But ideally both up and one down would be your best bet. upload rates aren't too fast unless you have a dedicated (T1 & up) line, so i would suggest using bothupload lines for speed. But from what i take it, you don't have two ISP's?

Yep thats right, atm i dont have 2 isps and wont for a while, hence i need a way to test its capablilities before getting the 2nd isp account.

Have a neighbor that you know well and is really close?
According to what type of service they have either a long piece of phone wire with the appropriate ends or a piece of coax and you could pull there connection into your house and use their modem for a hour or so to test.. Other than that I am not sure of a way unless you could maybe emulate it with another PC....

I have multiple lines coming into the office, and you can designate all sorts of rules for how the traffice is routed (that of course is dependent on the type of router.) For testing, you can do a couple of things. If you just want to test the port, configure it as a duplicate of your current port, make it the default route and swap the wire. If you want to test a more complex configuration, you can use a laptop plugged into the second port with a static ip(ex: 10.0.4.100/24). Give the laptop a static ip, assign an IP in the same subnet to the secondary outside interface of the router(ex:10.0.4.101/24), and configure traffic destined for 10.0.4.0 to go out the secondary interface. That should allow you to ping the laptop (if the firewall is turned off) and confirm both interfaces are working as well as your routing rules. I can go alot further into this if you need more info, but this should be enough to test and get you going.
