Default Printer on wireless router

So not sure how to go about this so i thought i'd start here as its got me out of a few tight spots before...we have 3 computers all attached to the internet though a netgear wireless router (AOL is our ISP), i would know how to go about this if the computers were directly connected through a LAN but they aren't. I was wondering if the router could be used to setup a LAN as well as provide our internet simulataneously? then i could share the printer over the LAN or if there was a way to connect the printer to the router so there is would be no need for a LAN? Or will this require a more sophisticated router/network hub?

Cheers get back to me if i havent given enough info...am at work so dont know the exact model of the wireless router but will put it on as soon as i find out...its white :-) and is AOL's standard wireless router

Honestly im not a networking guy at all, but just last week i was over at a friends helping them with there pc's....basic cleanup and what not....but they were in the same situation almost exactly. They had one desktop and 2 laptops on a wireless router, and a printer hooked up to the desktop. I just setup a home network through the network wizard and TADA, they could print from any machine. I dont know if this was a fluke but it worked great. BTW i just used the standard microsoft network settings for this i.e. mshome.

Well liek you said i was making a meal out of nothing, have managed to connect 2 pcs on a LAN both running XP...though when i tried connecting a third (running Win 2000) it didnt connect! I went on the router config page (lets label the pcs a,b + ****) (****=windows 2000) pcs a+b showed up under connected devices though no sign of ****! heres what gets me a little confused pc 'a' is connected via an ethernet cable to the router (orange light comes up opposite socket in router), 'b' is connected wirelessly (no lights), '****' is connected again via an ethernet cable although this time the light is green....it says in the tray connected to 'Local Area Connection' but according to the router it isnt connected! No idea what to do here so any suggestions welcome!

Cheers people!

Silly as this sounds you might suspect the cable between the 2000 machine and the router if you are getting no light on the router.

Or maybe the Ethernet card in the 2000 machine?
