| Apex Techie Wannabe  |  PcChips p13g+ Overclock? I bought this motherboard P13g+ & 3.33 celeron lga775 CPU combo from microcenter. Question is can I overclock the cpu with this motherboard it didn't come with overclock software i went to pcchips & ecs's website & don't have any cpu overclock software to download. Is there a website where I can download cpu overclock software from. | |

Read this first: X-bit labs - Articles - CPU Overclocking Guide Even with OCing software - you need to know what's happening to prevent things frying. From what I've heard, PC chips boards aren't the best out there - I'd first recommend a stable board for OCing.... I suggest that you OC in the BIOS if you're up to it  | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Apex Tech God  | Re: PcChips p13g+ Overclock? PC Chips are crap motherboards. ECS quality is much better, but virtually everything in their BIOS is locked down so you can't overclock anything. I'd suspect the same for PC Chips. "Bargain" boards usually don't have overclock potential. They autodetect what you slap in, and that's it. Even memory options are probably locked down to the most conservative timings to improve stability with their use of bottom-end motherboard components, too. No options to mess with, therefore no overclocking. | |
