| Apex Techie Wannabe | Hello all, First off i would like to say that I love this website and frequent it often for inspiration and knowledge, and that i have lots of respect for you hardcore ocers and modders. APOLOGY FOR LONG POST (in advance)!!!!!! SORRY The reason for me posting is that i have several questions for those who are willing to help. All week i have been reading and watching these forums (+many others) on how to Overclock in general and specifically the Core 2s. I have built many computers before but i have never personnally OCed one. I have been using the BXcalc which i found in $Solid$Necros awsome Conroe thread (helped alot) and have set the multiplier to 8x and set the Host Burn Percentage to 42 to reach a CPU speed of 3029 mhz, so my question is that in theory all i have to do to oc my cpu in the bios is change the Host burn percentage to the number i want to reach a stable oc? And i have a general Ocing question, the one thing i truly do not understand are the RAM timings, my Sticks are listed as 4,4,4,12 (I could be very wrong, please correct me) but in my bios it reads 5,5,5,15 and how does one go about changing them, and how SHOULD i change them based on the cpu clock and modifications? Also can any one tell me what i can hope to achieve in the way of an overclock off this build/setup? and if there are any major flaws or issues with the hardware i have listed? And i have also been reading that i can oc this cpu with the stock hs attached, but i never read as to how far people oc it with the stock hs? I recently built myself a core 2 rig the list is as fallows: Intel D975XBX AKA "Bad Axe" rev 304 Intel core 2 Duo 6400 2Gigs Corsair XMS2 DDR2 675 pc 5400 EVGA 7900gt KO @ 540/828 2x Sata Western Digital 80gb Hds Audigy 2 zs Sunbeam Nuuo 450w PSU silver bezel =) Cooling = Stock Heatsink, Lian Li pc 60b Pre modded from xoxide (was a gift from parents) BUT very, very soon ill be building an external wooden enclosure to house the majority of a WC kit for my cpu and GPU and if any one could recommend a decent kit it would be appreciated. Cpu Idles at 42c, and 49 underload Thank you to any one who even took the time to read this, let alone post. Last edited by Dapizzle; 04-October-06 at 11:06 PM..
