Yesterday I installed my Intel Core Duo. I had it ready
to fire up in about an hours time. Everything was going
good until I tried to install Windows XP Pro. I kept getting
a BSOD for pci.sys. I tried everything known to Mankind
but nothing was working. I got up this morning and went
and borrowed a Win XP Pro w/ SP2 and she loaded right
up :-)

My new System Spec's are:
CPU - Intel Core Duo E6300 @ 2.6GHz (1.86 is stock)
Heatsink - Scythe Ninja w/ 120mm 100 cfm fan
Mobo - Intel D975XBX "Bad Axe"
Memory - Corsair XMS2 DDR2 PC8500 2x1GB
Video - XFX 7800GTX (490/1.3)
Hard Drive - (2) Western Digital SATA 80GB @ Raid0
Power - PC Power & Clg. 1000 watt
DVD - NEC 16X DVD Burner, Samsung 16X DVD/ROM
Floppy - NEC
Case - Coolermaster Stacker

Everything seems to be working ok. It is hotter than HELL
around here at the moment. The AC just can't keep up.
I'll run some benchies later this evening or 1st thing in
the morning :-)

Are you on stock VCore, I reckon you can get more from the CPU? 2.6GHz should be pretty nice for 24/7 running though.

Actually none of em are really that hard, or so I thought compared to the mods I've seen on so many Asus boards in the past.

Well I ran SuperPi at 2.6 and got this

The problem is I installed Intels Hardware monitor and got this.

I've reapplied AS5, though it looked perfectly applied.
I've even moved the fan and it's still screaming hot.
I've ordered one of these til I fix my Vapochill.

Heh, the BadAxe displays incorrect temp readings that can vary as much as 10-25c to high, if you look around on XS.org it's been confirmed a bunch of times. I wouldn't worry about it, the board is just flukey. (Main reason why I won't drop my B1 E6600 in) I would deffinitely recommend a new board though, the BadAxe really isn't where it's at imo, hopefully the Bad Axe 2 will be a bit better.

The overall layout of the badaxe sucks but its still a very good board. The only Bad Axe boards that died were the ones where the northbridge or the memory slot was volt modded.

Well I'm definitely having heat problems. When I play NFSMW
it keeps closing to the Desktop. It's hot as HELL in Florida. I'm
praying for rain. At the moment I'm at 2.42. But it looks like I
maybe getting this :-) It's hard to pass up a good deal :-)

Yup and I have the chipset vmod, it sucks because I'm really tempted to just throw it in...

Well my new heatsink has arrived. Scythe "Mine".
I'm up to 2.51 without my games shutting down
to the desktop. That's a 650 MHz OC. It is awful
hot around here right now. I'm waiting on fall,
though I maybe getting a ZENNZZO -60d Phase
-Change from Digital-World soon :-)

Well I've got the cash to buy my 1st 7950GX2 :-)
I'm looking at this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150160
When it comes in I'll have all the parts to reassemble my X2 4800 PC
using my old 7800GTX :-)

I dunno about that 7950, but if you wanna fork over the cash more power to you, but i'd get a 7900GTX and OCis to extremes,

what type of cooling are you using in your case?
That would be my biggest determining factor

At the moment I've got a CoolerMaster Stacker Case with Air Cooling
going on. I've paid Digital World for a -60F phase-change unit but
I'm waiting on him to figure a shipping charge. I'll water cool the cards
after I build up the cash for a 2nd 7950GX2. Til then I'll be using stock
cooling. I had my old X2 4800 running SLI but I sold 1 of my cards to
get this Intel Core Duo system and keep my old AMD parts. Now I'm
shooting for a Intel Core Duo-Quad card system and a AMD X2 SLI :-)

Well seeing as how today is my Birthday (9/11), I figured
I'd go ahead and brighten up my day by ordering a 7950 GX2.
I went ahead and got the XFX
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150160
with Rush Processing and next day air (it is my Bday) it was $610
plus it has a $20 mail in rebate from XFX for a total of $590. I'll be
Smokin Hot in a day or 2 at the most :-)
