| Well I've had mine up to 2.6 (stock @ 1.86) but I'm having heat problems. When I play NFSMW it keeps closing to the Desktop. It's hot as HELL in Florida. I'm praying for rain. At the moment I'm at 2.42. I'm running a Scythe Ninja. It worked pretty good with my X2-4800 but not so much here. I've ordered a Scythe "Mine" http://www.frozencpu.com/cpu-scy-06.html But it looks like I may be getting this besides :-) http://forums.pcapex.com/trading_pos..._700w_sli.html | ||

| My Intel D975XBX "Bad Axe" and 2GB of Corsair 8500 XMS arrived today, but the 6600 won't be here until Wednesday. I will be doing a fresh install so that will take a day or two, I doubt I will have results before sometime this weekend. I can't wait to see what this beyotch will do. | ||

| Quick question for you BA: Where did you manage to find a 6600 in stock? http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...ufacture=Intel I usually order from NCIX because it only takes 2 days for my stuff to get here from B.C. | ||

| I geuss i will have to wait until NCIX gets stock then. TigerDirect has screwed me around a few to many times. My last (ever) order I placed with them, they took 2 weeks to get my parts out the door even though it was in stock, then it gets to the border and apparently TigerDirect "forgot" some doccumentation to get it over the border. That was another month of waiting. NCIX is my only option now. | ||

| The build went fine Wednesday night and gave me a chance to clean out my Cooler Master Stacker case real good, re-arrange my drives, and swap out the PSU with an Aspire 680W I had in my kids computer. Last night, (Thursday) I powered it up and started to do a clean reinstall, the bios picked up everything just fine, but I would blue screen after the drivers from the disk were installed. No matter what I did this kept happening. After a quick look around the web, I found that this is a common problem with the 975 chipset and original WindowsXP install disks. The most common fix is to slipstream a new SP2+ install disk. So guess what I spent the rest of the night doing? Tonight, all I should have to do is burn the CD the start the install again. I can't wait to start benching this setup. | ||

| I would bet it it also involved some Pale Ale... That is a great tip on the software, one for the mental archives! I also have a feelin that rig will see another 7950 one day when you find one at a great price...Quad SLI would be very tempting to try out just for the hell of it ![]() | ||

| FYI: The slipstreamed XP disk worked perfectly. The only problem I had was getting the networking to network, but after a couple forehead slaps it is connected at 1Gps. Overclocking is a breeze, I hit 3.12 with my eyes closed. I am quite pleased with the speed; got 28681 in Sandra CPU, 171180 in Sandra MM CPU, and 7313 RAM Bandwidth. I haven't figured everything out on this board yet so the bandwidth scores will increase. I'm amazed at how everything just pops and snaps up. No more waiting for Adobe PS to load, it just pops up. Same with starting XP, when I click my username at the logon screen it immediately goes to the desktop and is waiting for me to do something. I haven't had this much fun with new toys in quite a while. | ||

Come on you can push it further. Les see 4ghz. Yea performance seemed to be great with my raptors and 6300. For some reason bandwidth really seems to be lacking with this mobo. Its probably due to the lack of memory options. Good luck with it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Glad you are having fun BA, can't wait to see the final results. On a side note, my AM2 3800+ single core is fairly "snappy" as well, and with only one core. I can't wait to see how the 65nm X2 (or X4?) processors "feel". I will be getting one of those not long after they release. | ||
