Default Can it happen?

I just picked up an old workstation from work. It's a Compaq AP550 with Dual PIII 866's 1 Gig of DDR RAM and Buit-in SCSI 160. The mother board (Intel 840) is jumperless, the bios is basic. is there a way to physically overclock a PIII. I'm not afraid of opening the cases on the processors. Or is there software. I tried speedfan with no luck. I really don't want to buy a new MoBo. But having dual 866's over clock would be cool.

You may be able to over clock dual proccesors, but i have nebver heard of it. The only way that I have ever heard of really succesful over clocking was in the bios not in a windows program, but once again i could be wrong.

Mine are OC'ed 25%.

I did it on my mobo, but my old board wouldnt let me bios/hardware oc. I used a program called CPUFSB, worked great. all you need its the Pll chip and whatnot and you can OC from windows. Works on just about any mobo i've ever tried.

BTW thats a nice system... you steal it?

I thought CPUFSB would be the trick but...

CPUCooL does not support the following PLL's because they do not have a System Management Bus connection or the FSB could not be set via System Management Bus. So there is and will be no program that supports these PLL's!!! There is absolutely no chance!

And in that list is w134... My PLL. Some one hates me. Do you know how much a Intel 840 Board with SCSI Ultra Wide cost? No. Not me either I can find any. Remember so far this has been a free PC. I just want to break the Gig mark.
