Well, I don't know what budget you've got, but I'd recommend getting either a 955x or 975x chipset board. I'm actually looking at getting a new mobo myself (have a #930 at the moment) I'm personally looking at the intel 975X chipset boards (they support DDR2-800 RAM better), although I have a 955X one at the moment - they are cheaper and still perform well. I'm thinking either the Asus P5WD2-E: http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...81&modelmenu=1 Or the Gigabyte GA-G1975X http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Mo...Name=GA-G1975X Both have 2x PCI-E x16 slots and support crossfire (but not SLI - Nvidia don't have drivers for non Nvidia chipset mobo's) They are also good overclockers (really good!) If you're after something that can do SLI in the future, maybe the GA-8N-SLI: http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Mo...Name=GA-8N-SLI or the Asus P5N32-SLI board: http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...45&modelmenu=1 Oh yeah... So your finally gonna upgrade that system for your son huh? Cause i certainly know you wouldnt be buying that processor for yourself. Dont forget to pickup a zalman if your gonna OC that cpu. Then again that dungeon of yours, you might be able to get by on a stock cooler. As for the motherboards you know asus and gigabyte rock. So make a choice.......????? Give me a holler tonight......Unless you forgot it's the wifes birthday today. I tried buzzing ya but, you didnt answer. | ||

| ya that is an OK BOARD i have a freind with that board he hasnt had any problems. If your looking to just get that system running that board is teh way to go. But im telling u right now u will wanta upgrade in 6 months and u will wish u still had that 60$ to spend on an awsome board. I would bite the bullet and go wit an SLI board for only 50$ more. seroisly you will save yourself alot of time, effort, and money if u just do it right the first time. keep us posted on ur decision. | ||

| The latest info on a socket 775 MB is that the MSI 975X is the new king - it supports conroe and there are a few boards out there that have reached >400MHz FSB - I would go with that board if I were you, but it also depends on your budget. Thinking of it, would you like to buy my Asus 955X while I get the MSI ? j/k | ||
