hey i have an AthlonXP 2400 right now @ 2.350 with water well the reason i am saying this is becasue i saw a new 2.4 p4 on the 800mhz bus and the OCin wheels started to turn in my head


now i have had 2 AMDs before and i dug around on the net for some answers on P4 OCin but i did not find too many good leads well


i want to get the 800mhz bus p4 and i want to OC the freakin crap out of it.. but i thought you had to get some ram with headroom so you could do that like with my XP bus speed is 266 and i have ddr 2400 ram with a total bus speed of 300mhz so thats why i have a 300mhz bus now

if i wanted to see nice numbers outta 2.8 P4 on the 800mhz FSB what ram should i get? what p4 motherboard that works with the 800mhz is a good OCer board

Well, you can invest in DDR 433 or 450, which will give you a bit of headroom.

Take a look at the Soltek boards-bump that 800 to 1200...

Ill agree with Kayin on the ram. Not sure about the board. I myself havent seen anything on it so I can not comment. I have heard good things about the Abit IC boards. I believe its the IC-7 you can hit about the same fsb as the soltek.

Duck and I were reading reviews-I gotta put together a 2.6c soon, and was looking for a good board...

cool. is the system for you or a friend? I build a 2.4c on and intel 865 board last week. it was the fast install i had ever done. Had a 120gb 8mb cache western digital hd. only 256mb of generic 3200. the drive formatting took all of 2 minutes and the install was done 13 minutes later. its a pleasant surprise for an amd man.

edit: sorry about going off topic a little, just thought id share. i also have to agree with Kayin again. go with the c core. its the 800mhz fsb chips.
