Default A Sweet First OC

Not bad for the first OC on this new rig... nice low temps even @ 15% OCed... check the numbers, TEC really works, who said SubZeroG4 sucked?

Anyone have any ideas how I can make it reach its maximum (3600)?
I am sure I can handle cooling it... i just got done playing 2 hours of counterstrike and it barely reached 34, its back down in about 2 minutes to 28...

Need some help... also, how about ideas improving on my 3DMark2003 score (see:http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....&threadid=7029)

Thanks yall you've made this all possible

I believe I read somebody else hitting 3.6 on air cooling, and I think it would depend on your RAM and what motherboard you're using. Some motherboards make overclocking easier and there might be options you need to change to get your whole system to run with 3.6ghz (such as voltages and the PCI/AGP clocks/voltages)

Oh and its not really aircooled... it is TEC, thermoelectric cooling... the SubZeroG4 from Thermaltake... it rocks, buy it!

for those who haven't seen this in other posts, it's a peltier with automatic, electronically-controlled variable voltage.

Yeah, I know what you're using for cooling, but I'm saying I saw someone else post they hit 3.6 on air cooling...so I obviously have no idea. Personally, I didn't think the subzero cooling system was really worth it because it's not going to provide a whole lot of cooling without a lot of cooling on the back of the peltier (which is why peltiers have been pretty limited to water-cooling setups)

Default 3.6 on your set up should be easy

I have close to the same except cooling with air.
see thread under what chip..

Hit del on boot up to go to Cmos,
advanced-cpu (1st line) auto overclock 20%
turbo on or off depending on your system

Mine is very stable at 53C load 3.611mghrtz
Played everquest for 8 hours no drop.......

Max temp so far is 127F

I will be messing with the seperate adjustment some day but it is soooo easy with the auto overclock Used the V-tool on my 9800Pro a bit as well.

Default AMD here

I think what he means is that this forum is for Intel and that AMD has it's own.

On the other hand comparing an intel 3.0 and an AMD 2000+ seems strange. they are just not in the same class......
