| Apex Techie Wannabe | Hi, i'm new to the forums, and also new to overclocking, but definitely not new to computers. I've been an enthusiast for years, but not until now have i ever overclocked. Here's how i got started. One of my father's older computers recently decided that its cheap made-in-china power supply was going to blow and take the motherboard down with it. It was originally a Compaq, so I went over to newegg and bought a new gigabyte motherboard w/ sis 651 chipset for it. And i started to move all the parts over to the new motherboard. And i booted it up, and it was sloooow. The specs were: 1.6ghz Willamette 2x256mb PC2100 (Hynix) 64mb ATi Radeon 7500 The Gigabyte mobo made it real easy to up the fsb, so i kept upping it until i reached a stable 2020mhz. It was a great improvement in speed. And that's how i am now addicted to overclocking. | |

| 1.6 Willy? Get that POS off this site before you slow down everyone elses rig! Actually, that's a pretty decent overclock for that CPU, did you take any screeenshots using CPUZ? http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php Super Pi and the 3DMARK series are good benchmarks for testing, give em a try! | ||
