Default Are all remaining Northwood chips 30 cap ?

It seems as if the only Northwood chips left is the 3.2 and the Extreme edition chips. Are they makeing all of them with 30 caps or is it still random (6 - 30).

Another words, is it worth upgrading my P4 2.8@3.4 Northwood 6 cap to a better overclocking chip, or am I still gambling ? (hopeing to something I can OC to 3.8+ on liquid cooling)

Ok, well, are all 3.2+ Northwoods all 30 caps ? I asume they would have to be to achive those speeds at stock voltages, but im not sure.

I wish I could be of more help, I am an AMD guy, I don't know all the specifics of Intel's cores, just some things.

I do know its very hard to reach 4ghz with a Northwood of any kind, the Prescotts with serious watercooling are doing 4.2-4.5GHZ on socket LGA 775.

I have been watching the Pentium D's lately..there are pertty impressive for an INTEL

A Prescott with a newer stepping that fits your socket might do the trick..if you can cool it

the highest overclocking northys tend to top out at 3.9-4ghz (think 3.2c), the lower ones (2.4c, 2.6c) will reach 3.4-3.6 on air or water. my 2.6c tops out right at 3.55 on water (actually it will boot windows and run cpuz at 3.61 but its not totally stable so i dont count it)
