Default Bios Update Asus

Ok well guys i finally got this rig up and running but i got some problems! It dont overclock for crap. Im running the Asus P4P800-E Deluxe with a P4 3.2Ghz prescott socket 478. Im also running some TCCD at 2-2-2-5 but the problem is i think my ram needs more then 2.8V. Thats what my board stops at is 2.8V for my ram. The most i can o/c this thing so far is 215 Ext before it gets unstable..

I ran it at 1.450V to the Vcore 215 Ext Clock and primed it for 5 hours and i finally stoped it.. But as soon as i go over 215 it just gets unstable. Is there something im missing maybe a bios update or hacked bios. Im use to AMD! This is my first intel setup i ever ran.. So im kinda a NooB to this.

If anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. Thanks pimps

Do you have a CPU divider? If so, relax that a step.

What stepping is the cpu, is it a E0? The TCCD shouldn't need more than 2.8v to run 215 (DDR 430) at 2 2 2 5 (maybe I'm wrong though). I used to own one of these boards but I can't remember even what the BIOS looked like in that thing. My advice would be to buy one of these http://www.atacom.com/program/print_...BAC_ASUS_T4_79
and pick yourself up a cheap 533FSB Dothan Penitum-M on EBAY or something. It will out perform that prescott anyday of the week...

Actually i did use them and they worked really good, And it is the P4 3.2 E prescott with the 1Mb cache. I dont really wanna go all out and buy new stuff i just got this stuff. Lol

ALSO what is a safe Voltage i can go up to in this chip? Whats the max these intels should take?

Prescotts are all considered E, that doesn't tell me the stepping...

One thing I forgot to mention is TCCD DOES NOT work well with Intel. You'd be better off with some BH-5, but if you were going to go that route than why not just get a Pentium-M and compete with the FX-55's....

Ok im back after doing some more playing around with this bad boy. I hit 4Ghz but my ram craps out becuase i dont have enough Voltage im thinking. 2.8 is my max... Does anyone know any way that i can pump it up some? Any bios's or volt mods or something. Again im running the asus P4P800-E deluxe.

As soon as i loosened my TCCD up a lil 2-3-3-8 bam i was able to move it to 235. and 2.5-3-3-8 i was able to hit 247 Ext. But nothing more.. I NEED MORE VOLTAGE!!!!

Matt

Heres some good info on doing vdimm mods on that board: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...7&page=1&pp=25

If I remember correctly the max should be 2.85v for your ram on that board in the bios...

You could also use a OCZ DDR Booster....
