Default Inspiron XPS

Hiyas

I am currently running a Dell Inspiron XPS, 3.4GHz Northwood with HT, 1024MB of PC3200 Crucial RAM, Radeon 9700 Mobile. I want to push this system as far as it can safely go. Anyone have any resources or information on how far this laptop can be pushed?

Thanks

Laptop? Overclocking? Same sentence? You must be on an acid trip. Most laptop BIOS's don't allow for any overclocking. Even if you could, overclocking your laptop would kill your battery life and that would be if you could take care of the heat issues you'd have, considering laptops are hot as it is.

I can overclock my laptop! My 9600 Mobility Radeon that is. Yea Spec is right youd kill your battery life and heat. I only overclock my laptops video card when I am playing CS:S. I used ATI tool to overclock it. Overclocking is dangerous to a laptop and shouldnt be taken lightly. Not only that you cant really overclock with a Dell or any computer from a big manufacture like Sony, HP, Gateway, Emachines.

I nor Pimprig.com are responsible for any hardware broken during the overclocking of your hardware

OC Forums actually has a laptop overclocking section - in this area I would go there for your info.

Spectrum - it can be done, sometimes quite easily. There are a few programs about that allow tweakage of OC settings via Windows.......hell some people on that site crack open their lappys to replace the paste with AS5 or to try homemade cooling solutions. I dont advise it but then again how many people dont advice what we all do with our desktops, to me they are just one step crazier than the desktop OCers.
