| 3.0E P4 CPU Corsair XMS paired memory 2x512MB PC4000 Abit IS7 motherboard What are good settings for the CPU voltage, DDRAM voltage, and timings. Right now it is at 3-8-3-3. I tried using a 1:1 ratio at 240MHz but Windows kept rebooting over and over upon logon screen. The RAM voltage is at 2.6 right now. The AGP is fixed at 66/33 Thanks. | ||

| First thing to go look at is Overclocker's.Com's CPU Database and check your CPU there. You will have to register to use the database, but it's worth it and free. If you don't find your exact CPU, then get a good look at the nearest thing too it. The database lists CPUs and peep's overclocking results with them. They list the CPU, the OC'd speed, the VCore, Mobo used, Cooling System, and sometimes other good data. Look for trends where certain types of cooling systems can't keep up with more advanced types so you can get some realistic expectations and look at the Voltages used. Also remember that some guys but some real BS in there, like the P4 3.0 C listing has the top spot at over 4.9 gig and being cooled by a Zalman HSF where the only guy remotely near him is using phase change and only hit 4.3Gig. | ||

| Prime95, Sisoft Sandra burn-in test, F@H, or any hardcore games like doom 3 will test the stability. I would say increase the ram voltage(about 2.8volts should be safe), and maybe try a divider. Make sure spread spectrum is off and stuff like that. You can prolly find some more programs at MajorGeeks.com. | ||

| I'm just using 1:1 dividers (by spd) since it is PC4000 RAM and I'm only running it at 440Mhz now. I'm at 3.30GHz with no problems yet, so I'll probably run this for a couple of days then bump it up. I did have to raise the CPU voltage a little bit, but did not raise the RAM voltage at all. I didn't change the DDRAM timings, just left them at 3-8-3-3 since the OS starts to freak out or it does random reboots when I mess with those timings. | ||

| Remember that you can use CPUZ and other similar programs so that you can track and then understand how many of the BIOS settings change things. For instance, on many older systems, a simple change of 3 Mhz on the Host Clock could raise the CPU frequency and FSB by 30Mhz, the PCI Bus by 1 Mhz and the AGP Bus by 2 Mhz. | ||
