I was given a PC with this mobo

For what its worth the CPU is a celeron 1.3 and has 1G generik RAM.

It has problems freezing when media intensive, ie.. gaming, vido and .mp3, files are played.

The CPU temp cut off is set at 50 but does not seem to run near that. avg temp is 37/39.

Can this be OC'd??

If it fries it wont piss anyone off. I just want to see what it can do!

Wow - lets take an already unstable PC and overclock it........baaad idea.

EDIT - even worse, check out the prices on stuff on that site, holy shat Batman....

Gotta agree with aaron right there. You might want to think about getting this PC stable before anyelse OCing would be done. What kind of vid card do you have. Have you tried a fresh install of windows?

A thred that describes some of the trouble shooting up to this point.

It may be a piece of S??? but it was free and is still a daunting project.
Its become a hobby while I save and plan for a new AMD 64 system.

sorry just noticed that its not 1G ram but 1x512M and 1x128M ram

etiher i except it as is now or take this to a dif forum to trbl shoot more

Edit: due to operator error / impatience the rig refered to here is out of commission.
by chainging 2 bios entres it now will not boot! BLACK screen only. not even a chance to get into the bios screen.

to make things worse my dog's Vet just called and told me my dog died this morning.

Sounds unstable to me upon first observation, have you tried setting the temp cutoff higher or perhaps disabling it? This sounds like it may be a motherboard problem, though a bad PSU would be my second guess.. I definitely wouldn't try OC'ing it right now.

Alright, after reading your story, i'm a bit stumped as to what it would be other than a Video issue. You mentioned uninstalling the onboard drivers, its easy if you right-click on My Computer and select Properties, Hardware,then device manager, you'll be able to uninstall your driver(s) by right-clicking on the detected Display Adapter(s) and clicking on Uninstall. I have the AMD equivalent of that motherboard, the DFI AZ-30 TL. If I can remember correctly all you can do is an FSB OC. I don't think you can raise the VCore either. Plus 1300mhz is almost the top speed of the Pentium 3, the fastest one available is my P3 1.4ghz Tualatin-S which I cannot find a motherboard for anywhere. It appears to require a special mobo.

if you ever want to get rid of it, ill buy it cheap.
