Talking Attempting the impossible...

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum, but have some knowledge of overclocking. However, I -AM- new to OC'ing P4's. My issue is that I've been browsing many forums, and all say that the Willamette line of Procs are pretty much set in terms of OCing. No one can seem to get them past 2.0Ghz.

I, however, have got a 1.8 running @ 2.16, running around 38C underload (I have a ThermalTake Spark 7 copper HSF combo with fan running @ 6500RPM) -- my clock/fsb are 18x120mhz.

My delimma is this... Since I'm new to P4s and the whole DDR scene, I'm not sure what effect this will have on my memory. I'm running 256 megs of Kingston 2700 DDR. According to SiSoftSandra, my Mobo's max memory speed is 400 mhz (2x200). The 120mhz FSB puts my memory right at the 200mhz mark.

Does anyone know how far over memory can be OC'd before noticing a big problem?

Thanks.

PS. - I haven't had to up the voltage yet on the Proc... still set at default and my AGP/PCI speeds are locked at 66/33.

PC 2700 (AKA DDR 333) is designed to run at 166 FSB. Assuming that your ram ratios are set to 1:1 you are well within spec @ 120 MHz.
