Yes, that is 10 - 15C too high. Sounds like a botched heatsink installation to me.

Ok, well no one's probably goin to believe this, but i have a p4 2.0a northie running at 2.4 (120x2.0), and fluxuates between 23-27 degrees C. I am not water cooling, i just have a regular-old coolermaster aluminum fan. Then, of course i have two 80s in the front, one in the back, one on the side, and a slot cooler directly under my video card. This is a midtower case, and that is all i have in it. I know that my sensor works, because i tried it on another board of the same kind, same setup and all, and same results (in both windows, and the bios). I really couldnt believe it myself, but it's true.

Default wishfull thinking

dont forget hot air raises so put a fan on the bottom blowing in the case and force the cpu cooler whit a fan on the out site let it blow directley on the cpu cooler and for the HOT ait make 2 blow holes on top you dont even need a fan inside it is posibble ofcourse to suuck the air out but thats how to make a nice air cycle

Your temps are definetly way too high. How are you getting those readings anyway?

I would suggest remounting the HSF, and if that doesn't help try lapping and using a good TIM. If you still don't see any improvement, your mobo must be giving you bogus readings.

P.S.---Periods and commas are our friends, koetjeboe. Please use them if you want people to listen to what you have to say.....unless of course it was your intention to sound like one of those blond valley-girls from high school that won't shut the hell up so you have to strangle her but then you can't just leave her there so you take her into the woods only then no one's around and she looks really sexy and you cant help yourself so you start making out with her.....Wait what were we talking about? Hope you get the idea.

I run at 40 idle -50full load with my P4 2.02 Northwood running @ 2.5ghz. That is with a Zalman MCX4000 with a 120mm @ 84cfm. I know this temps should be like 43 max with this HSF but It is due to low case ventilation
