Unlocking my P4 2.2

I am wanting to overclock my P4 2.2 but in the bios it tells me its locked so what now? How do I unlock it? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks..

P4's are locked and as far as i know you can not unlocked them. I think Intel has had its procs locked for sometime now. The only overclocking you can do is with your RAM.

You n00b's! pentium 4's are not locked, the only thing locked is the multiplyer, if its saying its locked thats because ecs sucks when it comes to overclocking, ECS mobo's have no or very little overclocking features, is there an FSB adjustment setting somewhere in bios? check the manual, if not your screwed as far as overclocking is concerned i hate to say, but I understand you probably bought ECS cause they are VERY cheap and: you get what you pay for...
EDIT: I know im still considered a n00b here so, dont take in me calling you n00b's the wrong way, my bad, you were probably just misinformed

Try out the p4 in a mobo with overclocking features and youll see...

that is not true. Myy p4 is not locked I have a p4 2.4 and I change the settings in my bios as much as I want to not saying that it will run but I can run stable at 105 but anyhigher and it will not run. I think it is my ram causing this problem.

ok guess we were replying at the same time lol. No the p4's are not locked.

First... I am a n00b to overclocking yes but you did make kinda a scene about that fact.. and the ECS board was a gift so it kinda was not left to me.. (if it was I would have a asus) but anyway I the above is not all fact I have read many reviews about the ECS mobo's being a good (all be it cheap cost) board with overclockers in mind.. I might just have one that happens to not be.. (will soon be changed) but at any rate I was just asking a simple ?? ... And I dont think the ECS board is poor quality as you suggested in your post...

If you read my post it says that you can overclock your RAM. When I said it was locked I was talking about the multiplier. Im not that stupid. lol! You know so where you can drop the multipilier and raise the FSB of the chip or both. Whatever you think will get you more performance.
