Default Help Overclocking my i7 920

Hey everyone....
Don't think that many people are still around, seeing as the main PCAPEX site is down.
If anyone is here, i'd like some help please

Specs

i7 920
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
OCZ Platinum 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600 (OCZ3P1600LV6GK)
eVGA GTX 285 SC (1GB)
640GB WD SATA
SB Audigy 2 Platinum
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W
Windows 7 64bit RC7100

Here are the specs according to CPU-Z
Core Voltage 1.040 - 1.280V (it varies)
Family: 6
Ext Family: 6
Model: A
Ext Model: 1A
Stepping: 4
Revision: C0/C1

Core Speed: 2832.3Mhz
Multiplier: x21
Bus Speed: 134.9 Mhz
QPI Link: 2427.7 Mhz

I think the auto OC tool thing is on... anyways it's at stock @ 2.67Ghz

I have had no luck whatsoever in Overclocking this processor. I still have the stock cooler and thermal compound on the CPU. I'll upgrade the cooler when I have the chance.
I've had several friends try to come and overclock the CPU as well and it resulted in an unstable system every time. BSOD as well as random shutdowns.

Any advice is appreciated! I'd like to get this CPU to at least 3Ghz....

i hope the voltage rating on your +5 and +12 is just a reporting error.. or you may be having some power issues soon =)

Not a clue... this is a recently refurbished PSU sent by PCP&C.
Although if my 12V rail was really running at 1.15V, I don't think my computer would be actually running...
Could it be an issue with Win 7 not reporting the right numbers?.... (I hope)

Go into your bios and disable Speedstep and CxE Function. Then while your still in the bios write down all your Frequency Settings, Memory Settings, Voltage Control and CPU Features. Then check out your Power Supply Voltages in the bios and write them down also.

Here are the settings I use with my Classified. Yours will be different but maybe you can print this out and use it to record your settings? Then report back here with all your info
