I rebooted my computer yesterday, and all hell broke loose. I went through several attempts, and it would not boot. It finally did, but only at stock settings. No matter what I do in the BIOS, it boots stock. No big deal, new mobo is ordered. But what happened? I had my Q6600 overclocked to 3.1GHz for a while with no problems.

Everything works great at stock, but a little part of me dies every time I see it is at stock...

I suspect the board, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. I have 2GB GSkill ram, 600 watt OCZ PSU, now no overclock.

Like I said, new board ordered, but I would like to use this board with an E6600 I have ordered for folding.

Not looking forward to formatting, but a nice shinny new PC is always fun to play around with.

My DS3L did the same once; try clearing CMOS. Also, I found BIOS F8f (the latest beta) is a noticable improvement on F8b for stock-clocked stability.

Many thanks to you Hak Foo! CMOS clear did the trick! Back to 2.8 no probs! This is great news for my future folding rig! I think it is just too easy these days to overclock, you tend to forget the basic stuff.... Clearing a freaking CMOS... I should have done that before posting.

I think it ran away from home and left you with a pretend overclock. Post some new pictures or I'm gonna call up the 1st Evil to haunt you. HeHeHe :-)

Well, Slay, I was at around 3.1, then stock back up to 3.0 on the Q6600, temps are getting nasty, and the GPU folding is cranking out some heat in the box! Might do some picts when I get my new board and CPU. I do have a picture of my #2 PPD folder... It ain't pretty, but it works.

I always love to see an oscillating fan added to the air cooling package ...

Oscillating? You and your big words, and spelling and such... Actually the oscillation is off, just straight line cooling for that particular floor model. I am more of a linear fan cooling fan.

Can't wait to get my new stuff in and get some more folding points going! I need to hit the Goodwill and see if they have any elcheapo cases.
