| Apex Techie Lite | I'm running a core 2 duo E4400 conroe at 2.9ghz, overclocked from 2.0ghz, on an Asus P5L (i945) board. I have been for a long time now (when did the E4400 come out?) and I never really thought much of it. Today though I just happened to open up cpu-z for kicks and I see that it's running at 1.7ghz. As I flip through applications it sometimes shifts to 2.3ghz or, very occasionally, 2.9ghz. I turned off all the throttling options in the BIOS (speedstep, C9, what ever) and it still does it. Temps are okay, around 42 idle 46 load. Is this okay? How do I know that it is actually running at 2.9 when games peg out the cpu utilization? | |
