I bought a week 3 Q6600 CPU? I am currently on crap RAM and got this sucker up to 400FSB! Nothing special on benchmarks, but I only bumpted the voltage a tiny bit. New RAM should be here Monday or Tuesday, and I have better cooling lined up for it.

This might be an interesting overclock.

I'm going for my first ever official OC this evening (CPU OC ... I've done the GPU thing) ... if you hear screams and curses from across the country, it was me blowing out my brand new e8400 ...

Was that 400MHz FSB @ the 9x multiplier Fred_G? If so, well done! And good luck with the rest of your testing.

And good luck to you too godling... E8400 seems to overclock rather nicely, T2 and Sk8forMaple both had good results with them!

Oops. Got a little ahead of myself. BIOS would say 400 FSB, but it was not running at that. Will tweak it when my RAM comes in. It is supposed to get around 3.8GHz though. Should kick out some nice WU's inbetween games.

No Solids, my lame as$ is at 2.9GHz right now, one core is close to 70°C running FAH. I am waiting on RAM to come in from the 'EGG before I pull the mobo again and try a different heatsink. I have one of those GeminII's with 2 120mm fans to try out on it when RAM shows up. If that does not cool well, I will buy another heatsink and fan(s).
