Post Q6600 Safe?

Hi all,
I recently picked up a Q6600 g0 and i did my first O/C, it is currently @3ghz with 1.2V
.I ran Prime95 overnight with no errors and temp's are idling at 26c full load at 41c(From RealTemp), but i would just like to know if it is safe to run at 1.2V....Also while im at it these are readings from different Temp Programs

Bios:23c
RealTemp:32c,26c,31,36
SpeedFan:22c,16c,21c,16c
TaT:38c,41c
Well you see there all different....Wich one would be most accurate?

Thx

1.2v is very safe.. I'm running 1.5v @ 3.7Ghz
Realtemp and coretemp are the more accurate

What kind of cooling you got on it? My 6600 is idling at 40 and I've got the side panel off.

Big difference between Real temp and core temp for me

RT: 22, 22
CT 36,36

Both at idle. Speedfan always showed what RT does. Hmmm, which one to trust?

Amazingly my Q6600 is cooled by a TT Silent Tower with 2x90mm fans on it,
I was considering on getting a Zalman 9700 but it looks like the Silent Tower does the job.It was also used on my old Prescott P4 O/Ced @3.6Ghz idle:35c, Full load:48-51

Another Q6600 owner here. I use CoreTemp to measure temperature.

@ 1.5vCore, 3.5ghz, we get idle temperatures of 38-42c. Load temperatures of around 60-63c. That's under custom watercooling. I have a crap chip

reflux, have you laped your contacts (block and heat spreader) yet? It sounds like something is not contacting properly.

Those temperatures are after ten minutes of 100% load using OCCT. Is everyone else measuring load temps in a similar way?

I'm pretty sure my heatspreader isn't flat and I have a lapping kit in my drawer but I'm really not that bothered. The chip requires horrendous amounts of vCore anyway and I won't raise it above 1.5v, the load temps being nicely within thermal spec, so I'm happy to leave it for now until Intel launches a better chip. The Yorkfields have very low multipliers so I might just wait for Nehalem.

You're going to need a whole new kit for Nehalem though, won't you? I heard they're retiring 775 with those chips.

Sorry for the derailed and stolen thread ...

Yeah, new motherboard and 4GB of DDR3 I think.....

Back to xplod....push that thing further! You should be able to do at least 3.5ghz. But make sure your chip does not go higher than 70c - that is about the maximum temperature Intel recommends. If you can, overclock with the 8x multiplier. It will give you a higher FSB and therefore better performance clock-for-clock than using 9x.
