Default Best CPU heat sink and fan

So I went to the Dark Side and got me a 6600 Intel quad. Stock cooler is ok, but the northbridge is too high for me, around 53C with an ambient of around 70F! Well, I have an active cooler to toss on the Northbridge, but what should I get for the CPU? I did a quick search, but am finding too many options.

I want to overclock this beast, need recommendations.

Thermalright is good, but I would also look at Noctua. I pimp them a lot, but I still have their sinks on my CPU's for a reason. One other killer option is Ultra Chilltec which provides great cooling, but you pay for it.

Tuniq Tower 120mm was the 'cool' thing last January when I built my computer. I know Twisted has some crazy contraption that has two 120mm's blowing onto CPU and chipset.

I would go for the Thermalright just as killert suggested. In the reviews I have read you can't really beat it.

Here is a link to a review that compares several brands.

That would be the CoolerMaster Geminii. I used one for quite awhile, Sn0wMan now has my old
one. My new favorite is the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. I've got (2) 120mm Silverstone
fans strapped to it and it keeps me cool on the hottest Florida afternoons. If I could only get
a mobo that works as advertised.
Here's a pic of the CoolerMaster Geminii

Here's a pic of the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with and without fans. The mobo is a Asus
P5K Deluxe with a QX6850. At 3.8GHz my temps hovered in the low 30dC range.

Here's the Thermalright again in the EVGA 680i mobo that died on me. It was running at
3.6GHz in the mid 30dC range.

Yeah the Geminii is definitely a nice heatsink. If you have room for it go for it, as it will keep basically the entire board cool!

Thanks for the info! I am leaning towards the Thermalright Ultra 120. Might have a problem with it fiting with the northbridge cooler, but I am going to replace that with active cooling.

Sorry about the late reply, but you'll have no problem according to Thermalright's
compatibility list :-)

Thanks for the info Slaymate, I should have Googled it... I am going to swap out the Northbridge with a smaller active one, so it will work. Hard to find one in stock, but one should be on it's way to me in a few days.
