You need to get a 780i motherboard to use the QX9650. Evga is offering a upgrade program. EVGA | Intelligent Innovation

Just go to EVGA and register the mobo. I bought one and registered it, later I RMA'd
it but never registered the replacement. When they came out with this upgrade I just
went and registered it.

thanks i will do that
and ive noticed even if you get another board as long as you stay with the same brand (at least so far anyway) that you dont have to reinstall anything

ok registered
but just how much better other then being able to use the QX9650 is it well and the fact that you have the newest technology out too
