TEMP LIMIT ON A PENTIUM D 805 2.66 ghz

ok i have a friend who has a intel pentium d 805 2.66 ghz dual core smithfield core
and he want s to know what the TEMP. limit is on the CPU
he has a after market CPU cooler right now and i know for a fact that his case has lots of air flow!
he has it OCed as of now at 3.05 and his temps as of now are 58 degress C idle
and 68 degress C on load
can any one help me?

Ive found some info that states a max temp of 64c ,which is scary, cause ive pushed mine to 77c this summer when the AC was off

for what its worth, i run th D805 as my main rig with a scythe ninja cooler and a 120 fan, in
a cooler master centurion case clocked at 3.8 and my temps are 37 idle 68 load so you might need to look at your setup, something is not right.

check fan speeds/cooler seating/thermal paste ect

I think your friend is either putting too much voltage through that CPU, or that the cooler's not installed right

for 3.05 under load, it shouldn't be that high IMO - I'd expect that from 3.6-4.0, but not for 3GHz.

Invest in a better cooler - temps that high aren't good for the processor

i dont know what the prob. is but my friend keeps trying to register on this forum and he never gets the confirmation email to join hes tried it several times without success
anyone have any ideas?

i sent him the link to read about this though
just cant understand why he cant join up

hes using nvidia monitor to see his temps
myself i use- core temp, pc wizard and i have nvidia monitor too
each ones different
IDLE
nvidia- 25
pc wiz.- 31
core temp- 30
myself i would go with core temp

ideas?
