Help me decide

E6850 GO stepping, one of the best overclocking processors to date or ...

Q6600 GO stepping, not a shabby overclocker Unreal 3 and Chrysis take advantage of multi-core.

I really like the fact as a reviewer I could push ram to it's limits with the E6850, something I couldn't really do with a E6600 and wouldn't be able to do with the Q6600. And there is something magic about floating around the 4 GHz mark.

On the other hand, the games man the games. But that has yet to be a proven selling point.

Thoughts?

Go with the 1333FSB. DDR3 isn't big yet, but it will be and the future proofed (so to speak) of the 1333 should hold up to DDR3 for a while..... And it overclocks better, more seed and bandwidth over a few extra cores pfft.

I voted Q6600, but I would wait, Yorkfields will be here soon.

I'm gonna say E6850 for the clockability of it

Although they say the games will take advantage of Qcore's , will they do it in a way so as you'd actually notice ???????

Wait for Penryn. But if you need one now, Q6600 ftw. I know someone with an E6850 and Asus Blitz who can only get it to 3.6ghz - same as what my quad's at. With a quad you get better future-proofing and IMO basically the same clocks.

I say the Q6600. You can always run in unlinked mode and push
your ram as hard as you want to. Plus you can alway disable a
couple of the cores and push the Q6600 even higher.

I know a dude could wait for the next technology forever, but Intel is going to come out with some stuff in the first qtr 08 that is pretty amazing. I am waiting so I don't buy something that will be instantly outdated.
