| As much as I love my DFI LAN Party NF2 the time has come to upgrade now that UT2007 is coming out (finally) I have been running DFI forever, I used an AZ-30TL in my Gateway mod, my main machine is a LAN Party NF2. Those boards together have claimed more lives in Halflife and CoD than the battle of Stalingrad, Iwo Jima and Berlin all together. I have considered this board here Newegg.com - DFI LP LT P35 T2R LGA 775 Intel P35 Intel Motherboard - Retail I had also thought about an Abit variant, but I just wanted everyone's thoughts on this board before I decide to sink 200+ dollars into the mainboard that will serve me for the next 5 years. | ||

| its got a WR, it looks great to me. CPU-Z Validator Database I love DFI myself, once i finally get my striker Extreme, i'll probally sell it for a half cheap price to excel to the DFI board. I say go for it, aren't selling the NF2 are you???? | ||

| Apex Advanced Techie | If you're looking for a cheaper option the DFI Blood Iron board also looks really good from the reviews I've read. It's also a p35 but a little cheaper without a few of the extra bells and whistles. From what I've read its just as overclockable as the board you linked. I could be wrong, but it might be worth looking in to. Having said that, I dont think you could go wrong with the LP LT. From what I've read that board is capable of hitting around the 475 FSB mark but wont quite hit 500. Cheers! Newegg.com - DFI BLOOD IRON P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail Edit: I just read the part about wanting a board that will last you for the next five years...if thats the case you might want to chill for a few more months. The x38s have pci express 2.0 and a few other features that might be useful if you're planning on keeping the board for that long. Furhtermore the x48s are not far behind them and I *think* should be out within the next few months. Last edited by hazardous; 29-October-07 at 03:14 PM.. | |

| I would wait for the X48 to arrive. It will be Intel's new Flagship chipset which means they'll spend more time on developing updates for it in the future. Or we could say the X38 will be considered obsolete before the X48. Of course in 5 years they will both be obsolete :-) | ||

| That BloodIron (I would have got one but they haven't been available in the UK, might set my old Infinity 975X up actually!) board is a killer too, its pretty much the same as the LANpart just doesn't have all the colours (and the green on that new LANparty is ugly). Infinity = LANparty for overclocking normally, and AFAIK those too boards have the same BIOS. Get either DFI over an Abit though. Last edited by Zaltan; 29-October-07 at 06:07 PM.. | ||
