Default OC help

Need a little advice on what to do next. I switched my e4300 out for a e6420 and have now been able to adjust the FSB on my p5n32 sle se deluxe. Problem I have been running into is getting the FSB above 1330. Anytime I try to go 1333 or higher, the system wont post. I have tried adjust voltages a little, but I dont want to go to high. Right now as I type my settings are:

FSB- 1330
vCore- 1.41
RAM- 850mhz timings - 5,5,5,15,auto,auto
NB- 1.5

I am OC'ed right now at 2.65mhz. Can I go any higher?

I guess I should include temps. as well.

Core temp at idle is showing 40-42C, BIOS is showing 31-34C. Which one should I trust? In the meantime, I will try to figure out how to post a screenshot of CPU-z.

Trust core temp.

And yes you should be able to go WAY higher. How far have you tried to go past 1300FSB? You could have an FSB whole. Try pushing it to 1400 or more and see where it takes you.

You should be able to do around 3ghz - bearing in mind that the new lower end cores aren't quite as good as the original models.

Tried 1400 and system wouldn't post. 1330 is the highest I have been able to get it and after about 15 minutes in BF1942, the system froze.

What other voltage options do you have on the board?

Have you tried running unlinked/linked/synced and seeing if it makes a difference?

Your at 1330. is that linked, unlinked, auto. I'm not sure what your bios options are.
What speed is your memory, PC2 6400? How much voltage are you giving the memory.
Try 5-6-6-15 at 2.2 volts on your memory.

Tru giving the FSB 1.3v -1.4v.

If that doesn't help you I think you have a dodgy board.

Or maybe a dodgy CPU but it's new and you had trouble with the previous CPU also, correct?

Yes, the old cpu wouldn't allow mw to change the fsb. I'll try that setting and reply.

I would suggest the problem lays with your motherboard.
