Question e2140 Overclocking Help

I have recently purchased a new
Motherboard (Asus P5N-E SLI)
CPU (Pentium E2140)
Ram (G.Skill DDR2 800 2GB {2 x 1gb})

My plans were to OC the CPU to at least 3.0Ghz to get good price to performance. I have read many websites that almost everyone with this CPU seems to be able to get at least 2.8Ghz. I have been trying to OC it for awhile, but I seem to be stuck at 2.36Ghz. I am not familiar with Intel CPU's (this is my first Intel), so I was hoping that someone here could tell me what I am doing wrong here, and give me some suggestions on what to do.

Well, I'm not familiar with that board...or any LGA 775 board..YET. However, I would say as long as temps on everything are ok, bump up the CPU voltage 0.05v and try again If that dosen't work, again. Don't go over 1.5v even if you can't get past 2.36ghz. I'm sure someone else with more knowledge of this board will post.

EDIT: Just realized you have voltage on AUTO, set it to 1.30 and try, if no good, go with that 0.05v until you reach 1.5v You won't want to overclock on 1.5v espically if you have stock cooler because of temps, but if we can even get it to boot past 2.36, itill be good.

Good Luck

If you want to overclock your processor, you can't leave these settings to Auto.
