| Sup y'all, thought I'd drop in with good word on tha E.. [In case you haven't yet read] - Tom's just posted up a pretty hot article about the new sub-$100 overclocking-king: the C2D-based E2160 Allendale - @ a penny shy $86 shipped. ![]() Considering I just bought a new processor (X2 6000+ should arrive today), I feel a bit had again (this time last year I bought the X2 3800+ like a week before PD 805 showed up similarly).. A week earlier, his would've made me the big difference to go intel w/ extra cooling instead of AMD w/ stock speed.. Thought this might help some of you considering buying for OC or just value/speed combo. | ||

| Yup, the word's spreading. The E21xx series will do at least 3ghz, and even only having 1mb L2 cache they're still well worth it for budget enthusiasts. I've got a mate who's just getting into gaming, and we're definitely getting one of these when I put together his new PC in a couple of months. | ||

Looks like I've found my friend (who just started where I work) his next upgrade.. He was pretty psyched to hear - he juxtaposed his X2 3800+ for the Pentium D 805 about a year back in favor of running 3.6GHz.. FTW - Got my X2 6000+ system up & it really hauls compared to my 'ol 3800.. Can't figure out why after installing mainboard drivers the HDD LED stays on constantly - not even blinking like before - (anyone ever experience this? - got an idea? - PM me please).. I was actually rather intruiged to get everything hooked up and realize after setting the BIOS, I was able to just assume my RAID-installed windows (which I thought would be impossible going from an nVidia - to - ATi chipset). Furthermore, besides deinstalling the nvidia drivers, all other drivers where just as i'd left em so there was literally nothing left to install aside from the ATi chipset drivers, - best recovery scenario in my experience yet. (So much for backups - [knock on wood] .. )

BadAxe's are good... I used a badaxe2 for a long time, and it clocked very well. Check this. http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/2...0407ghzju4.jpg
