| As you can see I got my E6750 in yesterday. My original plans to run the mATX rig on onboard graphics were shot as the PSU refused to boot the system unless there was enough power draw. ![]() So I had to snag the 7900gt from the AM2 rig (which is obviously down at the moment) just to start learning the "Dark Side" Arts. Here is a CPU-Z shot of the stock settings for the CPU w/ an XFX 7900gt and Super Talent PC2-8000: (now I just need to learn how to OC this bugger) | ||

| It's not that hard. I was taking lessons with the Mastah last week. Seems easy enough, just alot more little things that need tweaked, and one too many voltages... I'll have me a striker Extreme here in a month or two, should be fun to play with. | ||

Might need some help with the Gigabyte BIOS though, seems the Mobo Intelligence thingy is more intelligent than me at the moment. ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Ok, I have figured out how to bring the RAM "up to speed", but I haven't figured out how to disable the SpeedStep just yet. Guess I need to bust out the manual afterall, lol. Edit: If anyone has experience with the Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R mobo, I am open to suggestions. Or even Gigabyte BIOSes in general for the Intel platform. | ||

| EIST is what sped step is reffered to in most Bios's. set to disable. Intel OC is much like the old Athlon XP OC. it's just a matter of raising FSB (Multiplier is locked on your CPU though) Your going to need to slightly bump voltages to the NB, SB, CPU, Ram, and a few other ones you may find like 1.2HT...it just depends on what options you have. As always, you can probably get a nice OC without having to touch any of them at first, then just "Expereiment" with each of them one at a time till you find stability. CPU voltage rarely needs a bump until you get a ways up on the OC, it's usually the NB and ram that needs it first. Of course, I always suggest dropping the multiplier to the CPU and using the largest ram divider you have and find the max FSB speed of the board first, before trying to max out the CPU...then max out the ram last. | ||

| Well, I was playing around in the BIOS a little while ago (after reading through the mobo manual's BIOS section) and figured out how to turn off SpeedStep so now it is just "play time". Here is a screenie of my first meager OC, RAM is at DDR2 1152 ![]() Gonna back the RAM down for a while first as you suggested (on more than one occasion) and start playing around. At this meager OC I am already threatening at least 1 of the top 3 results for one of our benchmark apps. Not saying which one just yet, you can find out when the results are posted.... | ||
