Default Heatsinks for 775

So im trying to decide on what heatsink to buy for my e6600 on my EVGA 680i mobo. The tuniq tower looks nice but may require a mod to make it fit over the northbrdige heatsink. The zalman 9500 is cheaper and is smaller and only runs abour 3-4C hotter. I want the tuniq tower but I also bring my rig to lans and kinda worried about the giant tuniq tower stressing the MOBO a bit to much.

I have ran my e6600 on stock cooling at 3.6GHz with 1:1 ram ratio and the CPU idles at 49-51C peaks at a little over 60C when on a load.

Any one have either or of the heatsinks and how do you like it?
Also do you think the tuniq tower will be to much if im transporting my rig to LANs?

Have you considered the TT Big Typhoon? I know a couple people who wouldn't use anything else.

Have you looked at the Thermalright Ultra-120? It's performance is as good as the Tuniq but is somewhat smaller and lighter.

Get the new version of the Ultra-120.

I was going to get the new Ultra 120 until I found this.

Question 3:
Can Thermalright Ultra-120 fit on an EVGA 680i motherboard?
Answer:
The Ultra-120 together with its backplate can be installed on motherboard such as the ASUS Striker Extreme (680i) Edition without a problem but for other EVGA motherboards, Ultra-120 will not be able to be installed due to the micro SMD on the backside of the board and underneath the CPU socket. The backplate for the Ultra-120, if installed, will be pressed against those micro SMD, risking damage and/or causing a short circuit. We will be developing a solution soon to solve that problem.

I think I can still make it work if I buy 4 plastic or some other kind of washers and put them between the backplate and the MOBO so it clears the SMD. Think that would work?

The new Ultra 120 isn't out yet. You could go with the Tuniq - it's as good as the Ultra 120. The Noctua 120mm is another very good option.

I have a EVGA 680i mobo. I've tested quite a few HS on it so far. While I haven't
tried any of the HS's you've listed I will recommend the CoolerMaster GeminII as
the best HS to date for it. And while it's quite large the fan assembly is adjustable
and should fit most medium to large size cases. If you've got room for the Tuniq
Tower you've got room for the GeminII :-)
Here's a link :-)

Got a Scythe Ninja here. At 3.2ghz I'm idling 36c and full-load 57c occasionally jumping for like 3 seconds to 60c every few minutes. At 3.4ghz & 3.6ghz the full-load stays the same whilst idles raise to 39c & 41c.

Tbh I'd hoped for better but it's certainly not bad.
