ok guyz, i'm running an intel celeron d 2.00ghz.
nec - sis 650 mobo ( ami bios )
pny ddr ram 768mb
maxtor 60gb hdd
ati radeon 9600 series

i want to have a go at o-cing but haven't got a clue!! my hardware and cooling at the moment are all out of the factory standard so i know that the cooling is going to limit my overclocking abilities!!
sorry solid, i've not been able to get on msn yet!!!! but will add you as soon as!!

so any advice would be cool!
p.s. which software could i use to overclock? as my pc is a packard hell and the bios is a bitch!!!

Clockgen supports your chipset, but it may not be able to access the clock generator in your mobo if the manufacturer denies it.

If that is the case you could be better off waiting and saving for the next round of Core 2 Duos and a nice mobo with an Intel 965 chipset or Nvidia 650i chipset in Q2.

If you can OC with Clockgen, I wouldn't go past a 10-15% increase in CPU speed. You need better equipment to safely get anything higher.

Seeing that its a Packard Bell, I would think it would be a locked bios with not O/C settings. Or are there?

Even if you can't OC you CPU (Motherbaord is the real hold up most likely) there are still things you can do to improve it's performance.

A fresh install of the OS with a few tweeks can make a BIG difference!


Optimising your ram timings if the ibos supports it, or maybe through software.

Of course..we can always OC that video card!

it'll have to wait. ive just stripped that pc down for modding preps etc.....
but ant tips would still be cool!!!
and yep the bios is completely locked up and from what i can see there's no jumper settings, nothing at all!!! just a clear cmos jumper!
damn packard hell, this is why i hate them so much!!!
