Default CPU cooler for A8N32 SLi Deluxe

With AMD 4200 dual core. Well, the spec in the sig really.

I got a nice 2.6 clock out of it on stock cooling, but it runs a little high... Price is not an issue (no water-cooling).

My old system was a 4800X2 with a Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe. The last HS
I used with it was a Scythe Mine. It's pretty big but performed great. I'm
still using it with my C2D E6300.

Tuniq Tower 120 a bit on the huge side but it delivers. Thermaltake Big Typhoon is also good. And then there's the Vigor Monsoon II, it's TEC cooling so it heats up the rest of the case and it takes up some extra juice.

That one's alright, but the best ones in my book are the Tuniq Tower, Thermaltake BigTyphoon and Arctic Cooling Freezer series.

An I'm still gonna recommend the Scythe Mine over all those listed above

Damn those are huge though. Just gotta find them on a UK site and I'm set.

Thanks.

I use Overclockers.co.uk or Yoyotech. Scan have a great reputation, but won't ship to your address if it isn't the same as your credit card registered house. So that's a bit useless for me as a student.

Overclockers have the Arctic Freezer 64 here:

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940)

It's a decent sized piece of kit, not suitable for really extreme overclocking but will do fine for 99% of people. It's really easy to install.

If you want to go large, the Big Typhoon is better but quite a lot bigger and requires bolting through the mobo.

Ok I'm definitely interested in this Big Typhoon but I don't want to have to bolt anything through my motherboard...

I've got this one, and its amazing. It lowered my temps 5 degrees Celcius along with some Arctic Silver.

EDIT: It may be more than 5, since I've got the heat on in my bedroom. Once I can turn it off, I'll check and see what temp difference that makes.

5 degrees from the stock cooler? Doesn't seem too impressive. A 5c drop isn't going to allow for any huge overclocks when I'm already at 2.64ghz and not exceeding 55c full-load now that I'm undervolted.

ThermalTake SonicTower's are good... I like mine, you can run it without anyfans on normally and it still keeps itself cool. My E6600 idles about 38oC @ 3.6GHz 1.425v, and loads about 55oC.

Just an update. Upon shutting down the heater in my room, I'm getting a temperature drop of 10 degrees celcius under full load from my stock cooler.

Stock cooler ran a low of 37 degrees celcuis.
Typhoon VX is now running 27 degrees celcius.

Now, I wonder how low she'll get if I open the windows and let the cold air inside...
