| I'm surprised you didn't just tell him to drop $400 on watercooling gear... Rudeboy, it sounds to me like you're just playing with a load of PC parts and don't mind getting a bit "ghetto" with it. Sure, adding a fan on top of another fan will often give you lower temps, but it may be at the cost of extra noise and shorter fan life. In general, lower temps are better achieved by a combination of a larger heatsink and a correspondingly larger fan. This setup moves a lot more air and with lower noise levels for the same amount of cooling. One generally does get more when you spend more, but if you really want to go ghetto, check out the king of ghetto mods, Afrotech. Better yet, watch how he saves the world with watercooling! If you dig around his site, he does have an article about running fans at higher voltages for more speed, but do so at your own risk. ![]() | ||

Well thats me i guess! I like watercooling! But what do you mean? Like i tell everyone to spend 400 dollars one water cooling.. I dont think ive ever told anyone to drop 400 dollars on water cooling bro! I said a decent water setup can be as cheap as a highend air cooling setup and you get that nice feeling of having H2o inside of your computer! matt

My comment was not aimed at you specifically, but at those who might automatically suggest spending more money as the solution to every cooling issue. Please take a look at Afro's watercooling parody that I linked to previously. If you don't get the humor in it, then yes...perhaps my comment was directed at you. Some people might get that nice feeling from not having watercooling in their system and from not spending money they didn't have to, but from doing something with what they already have.
