Default Help picking a silent p4

What would you guys recommend for a silent (or near) p4 fan heatsink with relatively good cooling? It'll be on a 3.06 and can't do water cooling. Thanks!

In that case you will want a LowRPM 80MM fan on the best P4 heatsink: The Swiftech MCX4000

For a fan I would go with 30-40CFM and no higher then 3000RPM.

It costs $45 and is available at many e-tailers such as:
Xoxide.com
FrozenCPU
And many others.

Of course, post back here if you need anything further

Are you overclocking? If not the one it comes with should be fine. And it is quiet

Yes indeed the retail Intel cooler is dead quiet so that is a good cheap alternitive, but your temps will just plain suck ass compared to what you would get with the MCX4000

Intel retail sink would do just fine for noise, as would any Zalman sink.. or as Tek has suggested, a really good sink with a nice quiet fan will do good as well.

I like TekXiod's idea of using the Swiftech MCX4000, yeah its a bit expensive but it would make for some good cooling. May overclock in the future but not immediately so the invest might be worth it later. Thanks for your opinions guys!
