okay a couple days ago i was figiting around with my computer and i felt that right next to my sk7 on the sides, that there was alot of air not going into the heatsink but just off to the side doing no good. so i figured that since my fan was puting all its effort into making high cfms, "not to mention screaming its ass of to do so" i thought that i should make good use of that wasted airflow....
so basicly since the TT fanis 80x80mm and the sk7 is closer to 82x65mm i figured that i could bend the outer 4 plates on each side out so that now the dimensions of the heatsink would be more like 82x80mm
all in all... the results were good. originaly with my
cpu set to 2.43ghz at 1.8v my system produced 86 watts and had an idle of 39C with a toast load at 49.5C
with the mod and all the same
cpu settings: i achieved a 37C idle and a toast load at 47C this was all conducted at a 73F ambient temp.
