| i have an epox 8k9aI kt 400, and i was wondering how well or how much better my board might perform with a new heatsink and fan on the northbridge chipset. since it has a kt400 stock it prolly wont be able to get to any real high fsb settings, if i were to put a massive cooler on it would i be able to achive higher and more stable fsb speeds? what are some good chipset coolers? | ||

| I'd agree the crystal orb is overkill for a chipset. Not horrible in a closed case though. I had one on my 9700 before I watercooled it. The copper Vantec would be a good choice. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/vaniccopchip.html | ||

| Indeed AntiM that is a nice cooler, but remember one high-rpm fan will ruin a quiet case, passive is truly the way to go for a component that barely needs cooling in the first place(northbridge) Currently every fan in my case is under 2500RPM and the entire case is under 40dB but I only hear air moving so I am very satisfied. Slightly Off-the-Subject; Go for fans 80MM and higher and your set gonna have a quiet case I love 120MM fans, my CPU has a 120MM 70CFM Fan giving out only 34dB ![]() | ||
