| That's called an untailed fan. It's common to ship them like that. Just clip the connector of another old fan or piece of equipment and connect it. You don't even need to solder it, just strip a little bit of the wire, twist them together, then wrap some electrical tape around it. | ||

| The yellow is just a sensor wire, you don't need it. Just to follow up on Putwig's post; since this is the fan on your heatsink, if you are able to solder go ahead and do it. That is the one fan that you don't want the connection coming apart on. Thanks for the offer for the 2100, I have some stuff I could trade you for it. I would like to upgrade my PR bench system to a CPU that is a little more real world than the 1.4 T-Bird that is in it. Besides that, I fried a 1.4 and 2200 recently doing reviews. The good news is I got some more cool keychains...WooHoo. | ||

| You only need to hook up a fan to the header long enough to get into the bios and disable the feature. In the same section as the bios displays temps etc, there will be a "shut down on CPU fan failure option" ....... disable it! Don't hate ABIT, I would be surprised if many boards are left that do not have that feature! For Joe average it is a great safety feature! | ||

| Just remember to do some maintenance on the fan about once a month. I use the exhaust on my high-speed Hoover to blow out the heatsinks on my computers and clean the fans. If you ever notice a temp anomaly, shut the comp down and inspect the HSF. A lot of people run like this, me for one on two of my systems. The trick is to remember that they have to be maintained. That goes for monitored and unmonitored fans on a heatsink. | ||

| Day 2, So a bit of my finger is sore from when I got it caught in a 5000 rpm TT fan I plugged in while trying to get the thing to work but I did what u guys said so I'm cool with that; specially since I dont feel the pain in my finger cuz of the overtly obvious throbbing I am getting from the 2nd degree burn I gave to the inside of my thigh while I was complimenting myself on my first soulder job of the red and black wires. So everything came together last night and we was on a DC server playin only thing is my temps are around 45 to 46 C with my Thermaltake volcano 7+ they was around 40 to 41 C??? Oh well least the SLK looks cool. | ||
