Question modifying a zalman

i know that this is sounding a bit extreme (no fun otherwise) but has anyone tried modifying a zalman cnps7000-cu led h/f for a msi k7n2 delta (socket a) so that it can be clipped (no bolt holes) onto the socket..
the reason i asked is that my socket "a "is getting a bit hot (coming into summer) and at the moment i have a thermaltake mr2 hs/f, but i have a spare zalman handy.i dont want to watercool this rig as i have just finished w/c my 939 beast.my load temp while folding@home is 47c.i have 5 case fans (1x120 intake,2x80 intake,2x80 exhaust).
apart from shoving the case outside i would like to bring the load temp down.
the zalman is a good quiet hs/f but there maybe another good setup out there.any help would be awsome.

rig setup
msi k7n2 delta m/b
xp 3200@2.3ghz
2x 512 ddr333 adata
9600 pro graphics
40g seagate hdd
120g seagate hdd - storage

rig setup

The 7000 won't fit your board. Try Thermalright.

Anything can be modded to fit something. Post pics of the problem and we will tell you how to get around it.

while completely true, i tend not to "jury-rig" things if there isnt a dire need. do a quick risk/benifit on that, is it worth having the heatsink fall off and instantly cook the processor?

now if took like maybe 10 minutes to mod then maybe, but i tend to shy away from things that can cause multi-hundred dollar losses... and for what? not wanting to wait and spend $50usd on the "right" heatsink? i'll wait, thanks.

lol, mod an iPAQ with an A64 and a 6800U Go. That would be awesome... if only.

get bigger pockets. or take your system , smash it to bits with a hammer so it takes up less space.

there , problem solved.

crap, i thought you had the new Zalman that they were mentioning on bit-tech. That case is intirely far to expensive for my budget, and then I thought u were going to be modding it, I was going to be giving you some serious props. (lol that's a huge budget) I think somebody should do it if they have the gazillion dollars it takes to get one of those bad boys.

i have solved the prob of modding my zalman h/f.i am upgrading my net donkey to 939.the board i will use is a gigabyte k8ns ultra - 939 which i had in my benching rig and which the zalman was cooling (34c with an athlon 3200@2.4ghz).so with temps like that i can take on summer and whatever it brings.
