Question Zalman CNPS7000 questions

I was considering getting a better HSF. I'm running an Aria with an Athlon64 3400+ on a Gigabyte K8NS Ulta-939 MB. It seems like the CNPS7000 is pretty popular with the Aria crowd but I was just curious about the difference between some of the models.

For example, there is a CNPS7000, a CNPS7000A, and a CNPS7000B. The CNPS7000 does not include a backing plate while the CNPS7000A and CNPS7000B do.

Also, with regards to the AlCu and Cu, does anyone have any numbers to compare the two? The weight of the Cu seems a bit on the high side.

Here is a link to Zalman's site if anyone wants to compare

Thanks for the help,

I've got the same mobo. I've used both the 7000 and the 7700 on it. Both of them came with the backing plate, and both work great on the board. The difference is the case I've got mine in, a PC75. If you decide to get the 7000 and it comes without a backing plate, hit me up in PM and I'll be happy to hook you up (since I have to clean out the "mod shed" before I move the end of this month)

As far as numbers go, I don't have any to show you, but knowing that copper is a better thermal conductor than aluminum, unless your budget restricts you, I'd go with the Cu over the AlCu model. Just my $.02...

I've got the "A" version on a socket 478 Asus mainboard... Chose the AL/CU one because it was
a lot lighter... It is running at 9volts right now... You can hear it but barely (fully dampened case)... Won't turn
it down more because my PIV 2,6c is running at 2,84 right now... I clean it regularly by means of a
paint-brush..

Al in all I'm pretty satisfied with it although, if I should choose again, I'd probaly choose a Thermalright
or Scythe cooler, that way I could choose my own fan...
