Default Clean your heatsinks!!

Yesterday I was doing server maintenance. I have a server that runs all day everyday with battery backup. There is a temperature probe on the core of the processor I installed. I had never cleaned this big copper heatsink I got for it so I decided it was time to do this. Before I powered off I made a note of the F@H load temperature, 153*F, with the side panel off. I cleaned all the caked dust off the heatsink and reinstalled.

My load temps are now 126*F. and its dropping to 120.2*F with the sidepanel off.

Same for me. In my case, I think its because my dogs sleep about 5 feet away. I have 2 Siberian Huskys that shed quite a bit during the summer months. It sounds nasty, but its probably animal dander thats causing my dust problems.

@JDogg-
How long has that sucker been running 24/7 without a cleaning? It must have been pretty dirty for some temps like that. My 24/7 file server has to be cleaned at least once a month or the temps get so high it starts crashing.
