Sp range? It was indeed SC'ed in favor of the XP and SI series.

CNPS 7700?
Only if you look at the Fatal1ty version of that HSF.

I'd choose a Thermalright SI-120 coupled with this fan.
You can always limit the voltage going to it.

It would help if you mentioned what kind of socket you're refering to.

For a socket A I would reccommend either a Zalman 7000B-Cu or a ThermalRight SI-97A.

For a socket 754 or 939 I would reccommend either a Zalman 7700-Cu or a ThermalRight SI-120.

It was, you could probably still find one though. Closest thing would be the XP-90C and it's cheaper than the SP-97 was, but won't fit a socket A.

Overclockers has test results on both SP-97 and SI-97, the SP edged out the SI but it had a more powerful fan, go with the SI-97A. With the A model, if you do move to AMD 64 you won't have to buy a new cooler.

Pfft. Today's computers generate more waste heat than most nuclear reactors.
I'd be wary of placing such a thing on even a Dothan.

Modding a FS-V7 to place on a dothan, however, does have possibilities.

Dude, I appreciate it when you pull stuff from several years ago to remind me of the way things used to be. My recommendation is for an Asetek Vapochill Micro. It rocks.

Default Where Can I Get 1...............Thermalright SP-97

Thanks to everyone that responded to my question ......Which heatsink is better?.....I have decided on the SP-97 to go with my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and my AMD AthlonXP 3000+

However, I have only been able to fine one place that sells it. $85.00

Does anyone know where I can find the best price?
