Default For those people who own Thermaltake ram sinks

How are they for removal? I heard that the vantec heatsinks were very hard to remove once attached, so i was curious to see if anyone had trouble removing the heatsinks once they were installed.

IF you attach the adhesive that they come with then you'll more thatn likely never get them off without damaging the stick, I made a comp for someone using the active spreader with the fan just for the look but , I only attached the clip on it and not the adhesive for fear of ruining the memory, works just fine as long as your not movin it place all the time or jarring theF*$# out of it.

so the heatsink will still come in contact with the ram? I know it doesnt cool it a whole bunch, but it might as well be doing something.

Yep sure will. I didn't attach the adhesive tape to mine either, just used the clips.

i was thinking of getting the Thermaltake Active Memory Cooling Kit but i read up on the specs.. How can a 5.1cfm fan make 23dba? lol Needless to say, unless someone can convince me its not as bad as it sounds, im doing with passive.

Just remember, a faint whisper is 30 dba. You're not going to hear that fan at all, especially if you're running other fans.. besides, speakers will drown it out.
But then again, I've never seen a need for active sinks on your RAM... hell, even the water cooling guys don't cool their RAM.

yea i know the diffence in performace is minimal, but it was mostly for show. But i wanna keep things as quiet as i can, so no point in adding all that extra sound when it doesnt do that much good.
