Default 7700cu or 9500 led? that is the question

so im planning my first scratch built gaming rig and am most likely going to end up with a 3500+ venice sitiing in a abit fatal1ty or dfi lanparty of some sort and i was going to go for the 7700cu to keep it cool. However i like the look of the 9500 but some of the reviews ive read dont seem to rate it so highly, so does anyone have any opinions or experiance (the cost difference means nothing if i can sqeeze some more out of the venice)

Firstly, if you're gonna be overclocking, id recommend the DFI LP over the Abit.

Id go with the 7700cu or a Swiftech MCX6400-V. Both will do you fine for some nice overclocks.

More often than not , the reviews for a HSF that hasn't been publicly released will conflict.
1)
2)
Some engineering samples are far and away the best. Others are a waste of metal (Needs serious lapping).
Airflow design of a reviewer's test bed often often varies.
So does environmental conditions (Temp, Noise floor)

I'd still recommend the CNPS 9500, it is a more efficient design, and it can be quiet. (I'd cautiously (You can unbalance or fry it if carefless) paint the fan in the 9500 with Plast-Dip (Vinyl vibration dampening spray paint) if I were you though. Zalman has always had vibration problems (Unprotected Fan creating a resonance against the metal of the heatsink) .

Once again Zalman has come out with a product that is very efficient (lighter, and more potent), and has the potential of being whisper silent.

Take it from someone who previously though Vantec tornadoes were sweet. (And got migraines because of it)
